The Town of Cheraw will have its Independence Day celebration on Thursday, July 2. It will kick off with the traditional downtown children’s parade at 11 a.m. The festivities will continue from 6-10p.m. at Cheraw High School stadium with games, waterslides, food trucks and live music. The Band of Oz will play. The fireworks will be the grand finale at 10 p.m. Admission to the celebration is free with a small fee charged for water slides and face painting. A variety of food vendors will be onsite for food purchase.

The FREE Alzheimer and Dementia Caregiver Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, at Free Worship, located at 915 Chesterfield Highway, Cheraw. It is an opportunity to build a support system with people who understand and a safe place for friends or family members living with dementia to talk, share and learn. A light meal will be provided. Every Monday is Drop In and Paint Day from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Cheraw Community Center, 200 Powe St. in Cheraw. It is self guided paint, draw, and create with others. Bring your own supplies.
